This one started with the two large salvaged douglas fur cut-offs I came across and knew I needed to turn into a beautiful piece. Everything else grew up from those and came about through a series of trail and error decisions.
You are looking at a footboard set in front of a headboard. This is a project I did in school. The assignment was to refer to a prefered architect and design a piece of furniture based on the aesthetic or ideas of said architect. Having chosen the Mackintoshes, I went for the classic ebonized oak and solid white painted panels. The designs are a little more of my own and not entirely art nouveau, but they have been sandblasted into 3/8 inch glass panels.Head, approx. (H)4.5' x (W)7' x (D)2"Foot, Approx. (H)3' x (W)5.5 x (D)2"
Materials: Steel, Oak
Made entirely from solid stock steel rod which I bent and forged, with the exception of the leaves which were 1/4 inch sheet steel, and of course the Oak seat.Painted steel, oiled wood.

These pictures are of my own designs. If you wish to see work I've done, but didn't necessarily design, please check out my work website www.williewilletteworks.com.
